I always felt safe and at peace around my father, as far back as I can remember I was never afraid of him, yet the hidings burnt like fire. I knew deep inside that his discipline came from a place of mercy and a desire to see me do better. I never saw you drunk or dishonoring us as a family dad. Not once, not ever. Thank you for being that father. I always enjoyed watching you work around the house on the weekends and admired how you could do anything from cutting the lawn with your shirt tied around your head to laying bricks or painting. I know you enjoyed the garden and I have that same love too. Probably rubbed off on me all those Saturdays seeing you work with a smile. Then we'd all swim and cool down with some watermelon or ice cream. Thank you for putting the "Good" in the good ol days dad. I love and miss you. Until we are together again, all my love Pops. Clay.
